Presbyopia surgery

Presbyopia (presbyopia) is a vision disorder in which it is difficult to focus the eyes when reading or working at close range. It is not a disease, but a normal ageing process of the eye and especially of the lens, which scleroses by hardening. This ageing process begins at birth, but its effects classically show up between the ages of 40 and 45. After a certain point, near focusing is no longer possible, which is why the vast majority of elderly people need reading glasses (with the exception of some mildly myopic people who can continue to read without reading glasses under certain conditions).

Refractive lens exchange (clear lens extraction) with implantation of multifocal lenses or EDOF is an excellent method to correct presbyopia and allow you to live without glasses. Reading, shopping, working on the PC, driving, but also shaving and putting on make-up are finally possible again without glasses.
By replacing your lens, you can not only correct presbyopia, but also permanently correct existing vision problems such as short-sightedness, long-sightedness or astigmatism.

The implanted multifocal or EDOF lenses will last a lifetime and your visual performance will no longer deteriorate.
